Community Engagement

Program

Community Engagement

Grow WILDE creates shared outdoor experiences that bring families, neighbours, and communities together — building ecological awareness and social bonds through seasonal programs, community gardens, and multi-generational learning.

What

Learning as a shared endeavour

Community engagement programs include family nature evenings, collaborative garden projects, seasonal festivals, and hands-on workshops designed for multi-generational participation. Each initiative adapts to local context and community need — ensuring relevance and accessibility for diverse participants.

By bringing people together outdoors, Grow WILDE cultivates networks of support that extend beyond single events. Participants become stewards not only of natural spaces, but of one another.

Community Engagement (what)

Vision

Communities rooted in place

Neighbourhoods where families and community members share a common relationship with the natural spaces around them — and where that shared connection becomes a foundation for belonging, mutual care, and collective stewardship.

Purpose

Connection is the curriculum

When communities connect with nature together, education becomes a shared responsibility. Isolation from the natural world and from one another is a documented barrier to well-being. Seasonal, place-based programs create low-barrier entry points that build trust, ecological literacy, and resilience over time.

Plan

How it works

  • Offer family nature evenings, seasonal festivals, and community garden programs open to all ages

  • Design workshops for multi-generational participation — accessible in language, pace, and cost

  • Adapt programming to the particular ecology, culture, and needs of each community

  • Build ongoing programming that develops relationships over a season, not just a single event
